  • Job #2082

Directors Australia is delighted to be working with BlueCHP Limited to appoint an independent non-executive director to its board. BlueCHP is a mission focused organisation with its primary objective to provide access to housing for those unable to provide housing for themselves.

BlueCHP has established wholly owned asset holding subsidiaries and has a 50% share in a joint venture named Home4Life Limited.  Early this year BlueCHP acquired a majority shareholding in Mackay Regional Housing Company Limited trading as Connect Housing Group.

BlueCHP is a Not-for-profit Tier 1 registered Community Housing Provider (CHP) and registered Specialist Disability Provider under the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

We’re assisting in recruiting two new Directors to join the Board of BlueCHP Limited. BlueCHP will be seeking new directors who meet the skills-mix criteria, including those with the capability of becoming chair of a committee or chair of the Board. All Directors serve on one or more of the board sub-committees.

The Board has identified that it needs candidates with strong financial, investment and risk management skills and property development expertise.

The role of a BlueCHP Director is diverse, complex, challenging and incredibly rewarding.

Key Selection Criteria

  1. The successful candidates must be able to meet skills and experience in the following areas:
  2. One director will be CA/CPA qualified with strong finance, audit and risk experience. You will have expertise in financial management and have been involved with both internal and external auditors.
  3. The other director will have a deep understanding of property development and planning with demonstrated experience relating to construction design, assessing project feasibility, site acquisition and development and / or construction management.
  4. The ability to play an active role in strategic planning and oversight of financial and operational performance including critically assessing strategic opportunities and threats for BlueCHP.
  5. Experience at board level including a sound working knowledge of corporate governance systems and frameworks, and an ability to apply that in the context of a growing, innovative not-for-profit housing provider.
  6. The ability to work effectively with peers and to engage with senior managers in the role of a critical friend, resulting in improved sustainable performance.

The board has developed list of Board skills that it considers to be advantageous to the governance of the organisation. As such, the Board is keen to understand any of these broader skills you may offer.

The board is open to directors from the Australian eastern states being BlueCHP’s areas of operations. The company’s head office is in Sydney.

In line with BlueCHP’s focus on diversity and inclusion, applications are also encouraged from Indigenous Australia, people from a range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds and people with disabilities.
